What gets reviewed before a wall is quoted
A wall has to dry. A roof has to shed.
Most coating failures on vertical surfaces are moisture failures, not sun failures. That is why the wall review looks different from the roof review.

Substrate identity
Aluminium skirting, fibre cement, T1-11, stucco, vinyl and previously painted walls do not share one preparation recipe. The wall gets identified before anything is specified.
Moisture direction
A wall has to dry. Trapped moisture behind a film is the failure mode that turns a coating job into a repair bill, so drying direction is reviewed before film is proposed.
Sun exposure by elevation
West and south elevations carry the afternoon load. Wall work is specified per elevation instead of treating every side of the building as the same problem.
Seam and penetration map
Windows, vents, service penetrations and panel joints decide where a wall system actually fails. They are recorded before coverage is calculated.
Roof load against wall load
Same mechanism, different exposure.
A reflective surface behaves the same way on any plane. What differs is the angle of arrival, the hours of exposure, and which side of the building the occupant actually feels.

Roofs take the vertical load
A roof faces the sun for most of the useful day and takes the highest surface temperature on the building.
Walls take the angled load
Walls receive lower peak intensity for longer, concentrated on specific elevations, which changes where reflective surface is worth paying for.
The interior response differs
Roof surface heat sits above the ceiling. Wall surface heat sits beside the living space, and occupants often notice a hot wall before they notice a hot roof.
Roof and wall can be specified together on one file, and often should be on a park building where both surfaces are due. They are still priced as two measured areas, because that is what they are.
