88% reflected. Published, not promised.

Your roof is cooking your house. We stop it.

Your roof takes the sun all day and hands it down through the ceiling. Sundown changes the surface: 0.88 reflectance on day one, still reading 0.74 at three years.

Turn down the surface between you and the sun. A roof-qualified cooling and restoration system for RVs and manufactured homes.

Before we talk about coating anything

Which room did you give up on?

Nobody wakes up wanting paint.

You are here because the fan, the blinds and the service call did not fix it.

Is your roof too hot? The back bedroom is unusable after two, the AC runs all day and never catches up, and the bill triples in June. Change the surface, not the equipment. Sundown Coatings.

“That back bedroom is unusable after two.”

So the door stays shut and it holds boxes now.

What is a room you cannot use worth over three more summers?

“The AC runs all afternoon and never catches up.”

A bigger unit against the same heat load is a bigger bill doing the same losing.

What did the service calls change about four in the afternoon?

“My bill triples in the summer and I just eat it.”

Pull twelve months of statements. The June-to-September gap is cooling.

How many more summers do you plan to pay that gap?

“It is still hot in here at nine at night.”

The sun went down three hours ago and the house has not let go of the day.

No thermostat setting reaches heat that is already in the structure.

Four complaints, one cause

The heat is coming from overhead.

The pain

The roof is the burner.

A dark surface soaks up sun all day and hands it down through the ceiling.

The fix

Change the surface.

Ceramic coating sends most of that sunlight back up before it becomes roof heat.

0.88initial solar reflectance

What you keep

It is still there in year three.

The producer publishes reflectance still reading 0.74 at three years.

0.74reflectance at three years

What changes inside: the surface runs cooler so the roof stops acting like a radiator, the air conditioner stops fighting the ceiling all afternoon, evenings settle faster, and the roof itself is protected from UV.

Compare like with like

Six white buckets on the shelf. Not one three-year number.

Not all white paint is the same product: commodity elastomeric is sold by the bucket with aged performance rarely published; reflective acrylic quotes day-one reflectance and often omits the weathered number; a ceramic microsphere system is specified to the substrate, publishes aged reflectance and is applied to a record.

Fire-test and Class A language sits in the review column of the evidence room until the report, product and listing scope line up.

Not insulation paint. Surface physics.

Your roof is the hottest thing you own.

Drag the sun, switch the surface, watch where the energy goes.

Thermal split

Most of it leaves. The rest has to be released.

Sunlight splits at the surface. The published table sets how much leaves and how little the assembly has to carry.

Day one is the easy day

Any white paint reflects when it is new.

Ours is published still reading 0.74 at three years. Ask the shelf bucket where its three-year number is.

The Sundown Coatings operating stack

Four layers of control. One roof record.

Four layers of control, one roof record: an exploded roof cross-section showing 01 roof intelligence, 02 compatible restoration, 03 reflective finish and 04 measured closeout.
  1. Roof intelligence: We read the roof before we spec a thing.
  2. Compatible restoration: Prep and repair picked for your surface, not bundled.
  3. Reflective finish: Supplied against a coverage rate and a wet-film target.
  4. Measured closeout: Batch, weather, photos and film checks, filed.

Reflect, then release

Two numbers, not one.

Reflectance turns most of it away. Emittance decides how fast the rest leaves instead of sitting in the roof. Most sellers only quote the first one.

What weathering does

The number most brands stop publishing.

Reflectance falls as a roof weathers. A brand that only publishes day-one numbers is showing you the easy half of the record.

What Sundown publishes: 88% of the sun turned away at the surface.. 0.74 reflectance still holding at three years.. The number every other brand hides? We publish it.. $445 a bucket, $370 each on a pallet. Five gallons, shipping quoted by region, no gallon cans.

What lands on the doorstep

Buckets, and the guide that goes with them.

Five-gallon buckets of Roof Coat, white, and optionally Clear Coat to go over it. Nothing else is in the box. The written application guide, with prep, coats and cure for every qualified substrate, is published free at sundowncoatings.com/guideand linked from your order confirmation. Rollers, pads and sealant are hardware-store items and the guide names the spec. There is no one-gallon can.

Roof, wall or stucco

Any order can carry the surface the building actually needs.

Four yellow Son Shield coating buckets: Roof Coat for roofs, Wall Coat for exterior walls, Marina and Stucco Coat with grit added for traction, and Clear Coat for a clear protective top build.
Choose by surface

Roof Coat is for roof assemblies. Wall Coat is for exterior walls. Marina + Stucco Coat carries grit for traction on marina and other wet walking surfaces. Clear Coat is the slightly cloudy ceramic base used only over our Roof Coat.

Roof Coat for roofs. Wall Coat for walls. Marina + Stucco Coat carries grit for wet walking surfaces. Clear Coat is the ceramic base without the white pigment and goes only over our Roof Coat.

Six stages, one file

How a roof becomes a record.

How a roof becomes a record: the roof file, the substrate call, repair first, the weather gate, a controlled build, and closeout with batch, readings and photos filed.
Two owners, one standard: Robert Yeager on platform and go-to-market, who lives under a roof that gets hot, and Greg Tomsik on field standard and application, California license 586698, Redding since 1999.

Field log / founder roof

Built from inside the RV

“This is not an abstract roof category to me. It is the ceiling over my own home.”

Sundown Coatings is being developed by an RV owner, with the first public case record built in the open: roof condition, weather, application, infrared readings, interior response and the parts that do not go perfectly.

The arithmetic

Priced from the roof, never from a chart.

Gallons follow measured area: about 32 finished square feet per gallon on flat, about 75 on sloped, over two to three coats.

Why the kit price waits

  1. Measured roof areaLength times width, verified on site
  2. Released coverage rateSquare feet per gallon, set by the formula owner
  3. Wet film targetThickness the system is rated at
  4. Material quantityThe output, never a generic size chart

A low headline price built on the wrong number of gallons is not a deal. It is a failed roof with a deposit attached.

Published, not extracted

One price ladder we print. One job we measure.

Five-gallon buckets. No one-gallon cans.

How many buckets you need comes off the measured roof, not off a size chart.

Clear Coat, 5-gallon bucket

$445

Same ladder by quantity. Plus ground shipping, shown by region at checkout.

The harder top build

Clear Coat is not urethane. It is our ceramic base with the white pigment left out, so it goes over our Roof Coat and nowhere else.

You do not have to touch it

We find a bonded and insured contractor near you, ship the material, and stay on the line while it goes down. Quoted from the measured roof.

Five-gallon buckets only. $445 for one, $420 each for two or three, $395 each for four to nine, $370 each on a pallet of ten or more. Ground shipping is its own line, by region, before you pay. Any price here can be split over months through Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay at checkout.

Lower 48 only. Alaska, Hawaii and addresses outside the region you picked are re-quoted by a person before anything ships, and refunded in full if the quote is not right for you.

Handled before you ask

Split the bucket, not another summer.

One payment, in July, is why hot houses stay hot.

So we took that off the table before you had to bring it up.

Homeowners and RV owners

American engineering, Redding CA

Made in America. On our own roofs first.

The ceramic microspheres are manufactured in the United States and ship from our warehouse in Redding, California. Two owners, one address, and a coating we live under ourselves.

Veterans

Veteran discount, every single roof.

If you served, money comes off the kit or the managed job. Tell us when you open the roof file and it is applied before you see a number.

Seniors

Senior discount on single homes.

Fixed income and a hundred-degree August is a bad pair. Same deal, applied up front, on a single RV or manufactured home.

Both discounts stack with pay-over-time. Ask when you start the roof file.

The questions people actually ask: will it stop my leak, no — a sound deck comes first; how long does it last, we publish the three-year number; can I do it myself, yes; what about my seams; will it cool my house, EPA category research puts cool roofs at 11 to 27 percent of peak cooling demand; why no price yet, gallons follow the measured roof.

Before you spend anything

The questions that decide whether this is a fit.

Nobody honest can answer that without measuring your roof first — and anyone who quotes you a temperature drop before seeing the substrate is guessing. What we can tell you: the stocked Roof Coat publishes 0.88 initial solar reflectance and 0.74 reflectance at three years. The EPA confirms cool roofs can stay up to 60°F cooler at the surface and cut peak cooling demand 11–27%. Your roof file tells us what that means for your house specifically. The assessment is free.

From the formula owner’s project files / Incheon Grand Bridge

This formula went on a bridge over the Yellow Sea.

The project files record the application. That is the whole claim — no service life, no condition report, nothing carried off a bridge and pointed at your roof.
