Two numbers decide how hot a surface gets.
Reflectance decides how much of the sun a surface turns away. Emittance decides how fast the rest leaves again instead of sitting in the material. On something people sit on, colour is not a decorating decision.

Every one of these moves the day a report exists. A marina operator who finds out later that the salt claim was decoration is a customer nobody gets back.
Asked at the dock
The questions people actually ask.
- It changes how much solar energy the surface takes in, which is what drives its temperature in the sun. We will not put a number on your bench; the published figures are 0.88 initial solar reflectance, 0.89 thermal emittance and 0.74 reflectance at three years.
- Producer literature describes ASTM B117 salt spray testing past a thousand hours. We call that claimed rather than shown, because the report is not in our hands yet.
- Producer literature describes resistance to petroleum products, acids, alkalis and common solvents. Same caveat as the salt answer: documented in the literature, not yet evidenced here.
- Not the coat that goes on decking. Smooth finish where you sit, textured stucco-grade grit where you walk, decided when the job is specified.
- Above the waterline, yes. Seating and trim take the smooth coat, anything walked on wet takes the textured one.
- No. This is not an antifouling system and it is not for continuously immersed surfaces.
- It makes it easier. The docks, the rental fleet and the roofs price as one portfolio on one crew mobilisation.
