Marine-grade cooling for boats, docks and marinas

Nobody should have to hover over their own boat seat.

Dock decking, bench tops, boat seating, metal trim and hire fleet surfaces. The list is everything people actually touch.

Contact temperature, not air temperature

A bench is not a one-second touch.

The pain

Nobody sits down twice.

A dark bench soaks up sun all morning and hands it back to the first pair of bare legs.

The fix

Turn it away, do not bank it.

The coating reflects sunlight off the seat instead of letting the seat store it.

What you keep

Still reading in year three.

This is not a one-summer trick, and the three-year figure is published rather than promised.

0.74reflectance at three years

A burn threshold chart showing that metal burns skin at a lower temperature than plastic, and that the temperature which burns skin falls sharply as contact time rises from one second to one minute to eight hours.
ISO 13732-1 puts the one-second burn threshold for bare metal at 64–70 °C and for plastics at 85–93 °C. Sitting down is not a quick touch: Moritz and Henriques put the sustained threshold near 43 °C. Published human-response thresholds for surfaces in general, not a measurement or a prediction of anything on your dock.

Why a coating changes it

Two numbers decide how hot a surface gets.

Reflectance decides how much of the sun a surface turns away. Emittance decides how fast the rest leaves again instead of sitting in the material. On something people sit on, colour is not a decorating decision.

Everything somebody touches

The job is a list of surfaces, not a boat.

An annotated drawing of a floating dock and a moored ski boat with eight labelled coating targets: dock decking, dock bench tops, metal edge trim and cleats, piling caps, boat bench and seat bases, gunwale and rail trim, swim platform, and rental fleet seating.
  • Dock decking: Composite, timber and previously coated decking that gets walked on barefoot.
  • Bench and seat tops: Dock benches, boat bench seating and moulded seat bases on rental craft.
  • Metal trim and fittings: Cleats, edge trim, rails and aluminium framing.
  • Rental fleet seating: Pedal boat shells and moulded plastic seating that sits in sun all day.
  • Swim platforms and steps: Walked on wet and barefoot, so they take the textured coat.
  • Piling caps and structures: Exposed structural tops under continuous sun.

Twenty pedal boats and one timber dock is two specifications.

Qualified against fiberglass, metal, aluminium, fibre cement, vinyl, moulded plastics and previously coated surfaces.

Marine scope: Above the waterline. Never the hull bottom.. Fiberglass. Aluminium. Moulded plastic. Timber.. Smooth where you sit. Grit where you walk.. We publish what the surface reads at three years.

One portfolio, one mobilisation

The dock is already on the property you are quoting.

The pain

Quoted alone, never scheduled.

A marina priced as its own little job is a job that stays in the folder.

The fix

Put the dock on the roof ticket.

Decking, fleet and roofs go into one audit, one specification and one crew mobilisation.

What you keep

Residents can see a dock.

Nobody at the barbecue has ever admired a roof.

Salt, fuel, grip and the bridge

Shown, claimed, and not for sale.

Salt eats everything. We say what we have seen and what we have only read.

Every item below carries its status on the front of it.

review

Salt exposure qualification

Producer literature claims ASTM B117 salt spray past a thousand hours. Right standard, strong number, no report in our hands — so it stays claimed until a named lab and substrate land here.

review

The Incheon Grand Bridge application

The formula owner's project files record this coating on a marine bridge in salt air. We state that and stop. Your dock gets answered from your surfaces, not from a bridge.

specify

Slip resistance is a product choice

Two finishes. Smooth for seating and trim, textured stucco-grade grit for decking, swim platforms and steps. Chosen when the job is specified, never by whoever is holding the roller.

review

Fuel and petroleum resistance

Producer literature describes resistance to petroleum products, acids, alkalis and solvents. No named report or exposure duration here yet, so it sits in review.

blocked

Immersion and antifouling

Above the waterline only. No hull bottoms, nothing continuously immersed, no antifouling.

Every one of these moves the day a report exists. A marina operator who finds out later that the salt claim was decoration is a customer nobody gets back.

Asked at the dock

The questions people actually ask.

It changes how much solar energy the surface takes in, which is what drives its temperature in the sun. We will not put a number on your bench; the published figures are 0.88 initial solar reflectance, 0.89 thermal emittance and 0.74 reflectance at three years.

Founding marine program

The first docks are the evidence.

There is no marine record yet. The first docks and fleets make one: founding terms and high-touch documentation, in exchange for scheduled readings through a season of sun and salt and permission to publish the result — including if it disappoints.
